Massage therapists have been permitted back since July. I am now receiving clients to my dedicated massage studio.
I am taking strict precautions to ensure our safety during these times. I have a full risk assessment, cleaning and PPE protocol, and am up to date with guidance from government, GCMT (General Council for Soft Tissue Therapies) and MTI (Massage Training Institute, the professional association to which I am a member).
Current government guidance at the time of writing requires me as the therapist to wear a visor and type 2 face mask; and the client to wear a mask when possible. Medical grade nitrile gloves are also available for me to wear. I will leave a minimum of 30 minutes between clients, during which I will ventilate and clean the room and couch, change the drapes and bolsters. The consultation will take place in a separate room with the door open to the outside.
